Habitat for Humanity - Habitat for Humanity is a charity that Sarah has personally spent time and money for. Habitat for Humanity helps build homes for the less fortunate. Sarah spent several weeks during her summer hiatus to help the Habitat for Humanity by working in the Dominican Republic. Teen People Magazine printed an article on how Sarah is Changing the World.
September 11 - After the terrorist attacks on september 11 2001 Sarah, coming from new york city herself, decided that she wanted to help with collecting money. On september 12 sarah asked every cast and crew member of Buffy the Vampire Slayer for donations. She also talked with the current producers of the show, and they agreed to match every dime that Sarah raised.
Stop Blaming Hollywood - The Cosmopolitan published in March of 2000 an article that defended shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer from accusements that said that vioulence in the media were responsible for violence amongs children. The essay that got printed was not written by the magazine's staff, but by Sarah Michelle Gellar. She wrote an article and stood up for herself, her show and other shows like Buffy.
